End of Summer 2009

Monday, September 7th, 2009

Meeting at the end of the summer is fun. Especially when you have great weather. For the next to last meeting of the summer we feature Andy Peterson. Andy is an accomplished unicycle rider as well as an incredible juggler. He can often be seen in the meeting photos performing difficult skills from both disciplines.

Teens On The Rise

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

Because of heavy rain that washed out the first Sunday meeting, we only had the third Saturday meeting in August. This meeting featured our New York Unicycle Club teens along with teens visiting from Pennsylvania  and  one teen from  Austria. The group demonstrated many difficult unicycle skill moves including unispins and crank flips.  Check out  the slide show of the rest of this meeting’s photos on Flickr

Début of a One of Kind Two Wheeled Unicycle at the May Meeting

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

On a partly sunny springtime afternoon in May. Long time club member David Bagley brought to the club meeting, a newly created two wheeled unicycle. This unique unicycle is the creation of  Tom Miller of the Unicycle Factory.Tom Miller is also the inventive creator of the Crabcycle unicycle featured in this post about the April 2009 meeting.

Though stable, the unicycle feels a little odd to ride. The two wheels make it necessary lift one wheel off the ground in order to execute a sharp turn.

Check out additional photographs of the new two wheeled unicycle with David and other unicycling participants at the May 2009 meeting on our Flickr site.
